Rafael Dumlao says PNP can’t destroy group behind Jee kidnap-slay – Glenn Dumlao

“Hindi n’yo sila kaya.”

This was the statement made by Supt. Rafael Dumlao III, one of the suspects in the kidnapping and killing of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo, to Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group director Senior Supt. Glenn Dumlao.

At a press conference on Thursday, Glenn said Rafael told him that he has been receiving threats from those behind the kidnap-slay of Jee.

“Noong kami nag-usap, ang sabi niya sa akin because of the threats…kasi nung nag-usap nga kami na personal, ang sabi niya sa akin ‘hindi n’yo sila kaya’,” he said.

Glenn said Rafael uttered the words during their talk when he was convincing the latter to tell the truth.

The AKG chief said that when he asked who Rafael was referring to, the latter repeated: “Hindi n’yo sila kaya, sir. Hindi n’yo sila kaya.”

He said Rafael was crying when talking about the matter.

Glenn said he told Rafael that if he will not tell the truth, he might end up getting all the blame.

“That’s your choice, if you keep on fearing them, kung palagi kang natatakot, ikaw ang makukulong talaga dito and you will be overtaken by events. Ikaw na yung lahat-lahat. Ibangon mo yung sarili mo,” he said.

Asked who Rafael is probably referring to, the AKG chief said: “Huwag muna kasi ang hirap e.”
Pressed further if he agrees with Rafael’s belief that the PNP cannot destroy those behind the Jee kidnap-slay, the AKG chief replied in the negative.
